Site audits,every project

Construction work in Nigeria is spread across sites, subcontractors and inspection stages, each with its own records. Orisynx keeps the audits of all of them, and the actions they raise, in one programme.

The audit landscape

  • COREN regulates engineering

The Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) regulates the practice of engineering. It registers engineers, technologists, technicians and craftsmen, and registers and licenses consulting and contracting engineering firms.

  • Stage inspections in Lagos

In Lagos State, the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) carries out inspection and certification at various stages of building construction, and verifies building insurance policies.

  • Certificates of completion

LASBCA also issues a Certificate of Completion and Fitness for Habitation, and the state government has warned owners and contractors who fail to obtain one.

  • ISO 45001 certification

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria's management systems certification department is accredited for ISO 45001, alongside ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Each site with its own schedule

Every planned audit belongs to a department or site, so each project carries its own audits while the HSE or quality manager sees progress for all of them: planned, scheduled, confirmed, percentage complete and overdue.

A shared calendar shows audits and due dates across projects, including overdue work.

Actions the subcontractor answers

The person responsible for a corrective action accepts it, or disputes it with a reason. Work cannot start until they respond, so a disagreement about who owns a fix is settled on the record.

Actions break down into tasks with an assignee, priority and due date. Each person gets a daily email digest of overdue work, work due soon and work waiting on them.

Close-out with the evidence attached

Photos, test certificates and inspection records can be attached as evidence to audits, findings, corrective actions and tasks. Every action passes through verify before it can close, and its effectiveness is recorded.

Construction: questions

Can each project have its own audit schedule?

Yes. Planned audits belong to a department or site, and progress is shown per department, so each project can be tracked on its own and alongside the rest.

Does Orisynx include site inspection checklists?

No. Templates are built by you, with text, number, date and choice fields, and they can follow the clause structure of ISO 45001 or ISO 9001.

Can we audit our subcontractors?

Yes. Supplier is an audit type, and a follow-up audit can be planned to check that the fix held.

Can site photos be kept with a finding?

Yes. Files, links and notes can be attached as evidence to audits, findings, corrective actions and tasks.
